Kessler, Leo Henry Bay City, Michigan Leo passed away October 29, 2011 following a lengthy illness. Age 79 years. The son of the late Henry and Agnes (Gromaski) Kessler was born July 21, 1932 in Essexville, MI. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Bay County Home Builders Association and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #169. Leo owned and operated Kessler Masonry for thirty five years and since 1996 his son; Mark has continued the company. He enjoyed competing in the Senior Olympics, enjoyed the outdoors especially traveling and camping. He is survived by his wife the former Wilma F. Boettcher who he married October 16, 1954. Also surviving are his children; Lynette Kessler of Los Angeles, CA, Mark (Karen) Kessler and Lori ( her friend; Gabe Weatherstrom) Hartley all of Bay City, MI, his grandchildren; Janelle (Joe) Finn, Jason Kessler and Michael Kessler, two great grandchildren; Lydia and Logan Finn, two sisters; Margaret (Bernard) Verellen of Bay City, MI and Ann (John) Wood of Midland, MI, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Lester (Carolyn) Boettcher, Gerald (Sandra) Boettcher, Dennis Boettcher and Carol Kerr, many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law; Irene and Darrell Anderson. The family would like to extend a special Thank you to Auburn Care Center for seven years of kind and compassionate care Leo received and Brian's House who helped with his final transition. At Leo's request cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will take place Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Robert J. Meissner. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers Memorial cards for St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Golden Horizon's or Brian's House will be available at the funeral home. www.gephartfuneralhome.com
