Mrs. Wesenick passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at the Carriage House at the age of 91. The daughter of the late William and Mary (Kimmel) Tiede was born December 17, 1931 in Beaver Township, Michigan. Leona was a member of First Pentecostal Church for 64 years. She was a Sunday school teacher, managed the resource department and was the secretary treasurer of the church. Leona enjoyed sewing, crocheting and feeding the ducks on the riverwalk. She was the best mother in the world.
Mrs. Wesenick is survived by her three children, Cynthia (Patrick) Neveau, Debra (Robert) Titus and Roger (Allison) Wesenick; grandchildren, Jennifer (Nicholous) Burns, Adam (Carrie) Neveau, Bradley (Heidi) Titus, Evan (Ashley) Titus, Zachary (Rachel) McMall, Brett (Jenny) Wesenick, Brandon Wesenick, Dean (fiancé, Courtney Cramer) and Dylan Wesenick; great grandchildren, Ian Neveau, Adalynn Burns, Killian Neveau, Lincoln, Gavin, Lily and Isabella Titus and Payton, Parker and Patrick Wesenick; brother, Theodore (Nancy) Tiede; one sister, Ella Wise and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Wesenick; daughter, Joy McMall and her ten siblings, Edward, John, Harold, Samuel, Benjamin, William, Hulda, Annetta, Frederick and Ann.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the Gephart Funeral Home with interment following at Elm Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial cards for the First Pentecostal Church Sunday School Department will be available at the funeral home.
