Leonard “Jack” Solomon, 84, Loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend passed away Monday, July 10, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. Jack was born on December 17, 1938 in Maple Ridge, Michigan to the late Glen and Sophie (Podleski) Solomon. He proudly served in the United States Army, worked at Saginaw Steering Gear for almost 40 years and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Jack enjoyed watching Nascar and was the greatest “designated driver” on countless Nascar trips with his boys and close friends. Hunting was another passion of Jacks. In fact, he was unarguably the best deer hunter of all time! Jack also loved drawing pictures, sculpting and worshiping the Lord at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Jack leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Carol (Alberts) Solomon (he called “his girl”); a little sister Bonnie (Bill) Flathau, three sons Leonard (Lisa) Solomon, Terry (Wendy) Solomon and Randy (Sabrina) Solomon, Eight grandchildren: Nolan, Jackson, Madison (Erik) Dehne, Dillon (Gabrielle), Savannah, Kaylie (Dayne) Kopfer, Summer and Carson Solomon and one great-grandchild, Leo. Jack was predeceased by his special brothers Mel, Glen “Junior” and Jim. They were his best friends enjoying lots of laughs, coffee at Big Boy and hunting trips.
Friends and family are welcome to celebrate Jack’s life at Gephart Funeral Home in Bay City with visitation Friday, July 14, 2023 from 2:00 to 7:00. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 11:00 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 706 W. Jane Street, Bay City (friends may visit with the family on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church).
