Linda Gail Ackley

Ackley, Linda Gail (Snover), Bay City Michigan, age 71-years passed away at home on Monday, October 9, 2023, after a lingering illness. Born October 12, 1951, to the late George and Velda Snover.

Linda graduated from TL Handy High School in Bay City, Michigan in 1969. She was employed by McLaren Bay Region (Formerly Bay Medical Center) where she retired after 29-years of service.

Linda married, Charles Ackley on November 29, 1969. Chuck and Linda had three children together: Charles (Diane) Ackley, Jr; Amy (Steve) Foley and Brad (Maggie) Ackley.

Also surviving Linda are her brothers: Gary Snover (Bea); George Snover; and Brad (Suzanne) Snover; sister-in-law, Nancy Snover; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

Linda had a special group of life-long girlfriends affectionately known as the Ya-Yas (Barb, Kathy, Kaye and Shelly).

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by brother, Tom Snover and sister’s-in-law, Susan Snover, Andrea Snover and Phyllis Snover.

Linda was happiest surrounded by her family, especially when sharing a meal, music and amusing stories. Linda impacted many people during her life through her kindness, encouraging words and generosity.

A memorial service for Linda will be taking place on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home with a private inurnment taking place at a later date at Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday at the Gephart Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
