Lois H. Casey

Lois Casey, age 92 passed away at her home Tuesday, May 9, 2023 surrounded by her family.
Lois was born on March 11, 1931 and resided in Bay City all of her life. After graduating from Handy High School, she completed her nurse training at Sparrow Hospital School of Nursing in 1952. Lois worked as a nursing supervisor at the Saginaw VA Hospital for 35 years. She was a lifelong parishioner and charter member of Faith Lutheran Church.

In 1955 Lois married Richard “Dick” Casey and together they had three children. She is survived by a son, Rick (Sandy) Casey and daughter, Lori Casey; along with five grandchildren, Neil (Jenna) Casey, Cody and Nicole Giles, Leif and Lauren Peterson, Pat and Audrey O’Hara, and Spencer Beggs. Lois is survived by nine great-grandchildren as well. In addition to her parents Frederick and Hertha Born, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert Born; sisters, Lucielle MacDougall and Carolyn Sherwood; and son, Tim Casey.

A funeral service will be held at Gephart Funeral Home Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. noon with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Steven Thiel. Lois’s family will be present to receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Red Cross.
