Lon W. Morgan

Lon passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Carriage House with is family by his side at the age of 65. He was born in Bay city Michigan on January 18, 1957 to the late Edward and Alberta (Kempf) Morgan. Lon attended Handy High School and then went onto Northwood University to get his Bachelor's Degree. He then dedicated his life to help others as a paramedic for 40 years. Lon always had his camera on him, he showed his loved for his family, friends and freighters through his photography. Lon was a member of the Marine Historical Society of Detroit for over 25 years, donating a collection of historical books and thousands of photos. Lon enjoyed lighthouses, going camping, logging freighters at Port Huron and the Soo Locks, riding his bike, watching Nascar, going to the casino and spending time with his family.
Lon is survived by his wife, Kathy; three children, Adrienne (Brad) Bates, Nicole "Nikki" (Adam) Navarro and Marcus (Martha) Morgan; four grandchildren, Morgan Bates, Charles Bates, Caleb Navarro and Kinsley Navarro; step daughters, Valerie (Justin) McKinnon Ashley (Chris) Middleton; step grandchildren, Jonas, Conor, Ethan and Laurel; siblings, Tom ( LeeAnne) Morgan, Timothy (Renee) Morgan, Lila (Harold) Greenleaf, Nancy (David) Streiter, Donald (Deb) Morgan; his first wife, Gail Norton; sister-in-law, LeeAnne Morgan; his special uncle, Don Kempf and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Lon is preceded in death by his step-daughter, Stephanie Burpee and brother, Tom Morgan.
Visitation will take place Monday, January 2, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home. There will be a time of sharing on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to wishes of the family.
