Loretta M. Stumpos

Loretta M. Stumpos was born Feb 6, 1930 in Bay City, Michigan and passed away July 29, 2021. Loretta was the oldest daughter of Louise & Conrad Schaffer. She graduated from Bay City Central. Loretta married Harry Stumpos of Bay City and they recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on May 3, 2021. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Lynn Jones and sister Rita (Don) Herman. Surviving is her husband, Harry; children, Leslie (Anne) Stumpos, Lane (Meri) Stumpos and Laris Stumpos; son-in-law, Robert Jones; sister, Bertha Sheridan; grandchildren, Ashley (Andy) Draybuck, Allison (Griffin) Hickman, Nicholas (Sara) Stumpos, Stephanie Stumpos, Madelyn (Tom Brown) Stumpos, Luke Stumpos, Andrei Stumpos and Sofiya Stumpos; great-grandchildren, Antigone Stumpos, Cecilia, Cora and Charlotte Draybuck and Rowan & Rory Hickman. Loretta was a devoted wife and mother who put her family's needs ahead of her own. She taught us to always do things the right way. She loved to travel abroad especially with her family and we will always cherish those many Greek adventures. Her final trip will be to heaven. Loretta was loved and will be missed.
Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Corpus Christi Parish. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert J. Kelm with cremation to follow the Mass. Friends may visit at the Gephart Funeral Home on Monday, August 2, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Stumpos will be taken to the church on Tuesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
