Lou Ann passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at McLaren Bay Region with her family by her side at the age of 74. She was born April 18, 1947 to the late May Ballor-Leahy-James in Bay City, Michigan. Lou Ann enjoyed doing ceramics, staining glass, sewing, gardening, fishing, camping, traveling, going to concerts with her friends, going to her grandchildren's sporting events and loved her family. Lou Ann enjoyed working with the Ballor family genealogy back to the 1300's in France.
Lou Ann is survived by her two daughters, Carol Hill and Michelle (Matthew) Nave; two step-sons, Clinton and Brian (Deidre) Phillips, two grandchildren, Raymond (Kassondra) Hill, Noah Hill and his significant other, Nicole Bishop; three great grandchildren, David Holfordt, Raelynn Hill, Anakin Hill, and her great grandchild who is expected April 2, 2022 her namesake; three sisters, Christie Sheeks, Colleen (Jeff) Chaltraw and Vickie (Susan Marut) Lalonde; three brothers, Mark James, Brian (Bernie) James and Matthew "Pete" (Chris) James; sister-in-law Rhonda James and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Lou Ann is preceded in death by her two step-fathers, Donald James Sr. and Michael Leahy; her two brothers, Donald "Jimmy" James Jr. and Todd James; brother-in-law, Danny Sheeks.
At the request of Lou Ann, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will take place Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Light House Family Worship Center. Officiating will be Pastor Jeff Englehart. Friends may visit the family at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be considered to wishes of the family.
