Louise Meta Edna Helmreich

Louise passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at the age of 80. She was born on March 16, 1943 to the late Raymond and Irene (Trautner) Guettler in Saginaw, Michigan. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Monitor and was very active in the church community. Louise loved cooking and no one ever went hungry after leaving her house. She enjoyed the outdoors and gardening, as well as canning and sewing. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Louise loved polka dancing and that’s how she met the love of her life, Melvin. They married on April 25, 1964 and spent over 59 years together creating many memories that will be cherished forever.

Louise is survived by her husband, Melvin; children, Amy (Ken) Wegener, Faye Hamel (David Lasecki) and Leslie (Lori) Helmreich; grandchildren, Kayla Hamel, Crystal, Mark and Melissa Wegener and Sydney and Riley Helmreich; great grandson, Keygan Hamel; brother-in-law, Wayne (Joann) Helmreich; sister-in-law, Marie Helmreich and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lloyd Guettler; brother-in-law’s, Nelson Helmreich and Kenneth Helmreich and sister-in-law, Lois Helmreich.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at VNA Hospice and also the staff at Henry Ford Cancer Care Center. They would also like to thank Pastor Seth Kaiser for all the prayers for the safe travels to and from Henry Ford Hospital.

Funeral service for Louise will take place on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church of Monitor with interment to follow at the Lutheran Home Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Seth Kaiser. The family will be present to receive visitors at Gephart Funeral Home on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church of Monitor or your favorite charity.
