Louise passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 at the Carriage House at the age of 92 years. She was born in Indiana on July 11, 1929 to the late Frank and Helen (Taylor) Colson. Louise lived the last 12 years in Midland Manor, Bay City where she enjoyed many activities. She was a long-time quilter and later enjoyed crocheting and making afghans for NICU babies.
Louise is survived by her children, David (Helen) Shook of Pinconning, Steven (Patrice) Shook of Bay City, Deborah (Garry) Shorkey of Pinconning, Timothy Shook of Linwood and Renee Treat of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Dana (Bob) Novak, Amy (Mark) Olson, Scott Shorkey, Cory (Misty) Shook, Kevin (Jessica) Shook, Sarah (Matt) Duley, Jared (Jennifer) Shook and Carrie (Joaquin) Turner; twelve great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; sister, Christine Pozenal and many nieces and nephews. Louise was preceded in death by her late husband, Alvin Miller; mother and step-father, Helen and Melvin Preston; sister, Jeanne Cunningham and brother, James Colson.
Funeral service will take place at 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson with private interment in Edwards Township Cemetery. Friends may visit at the Gephart Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
