Lucille “Lucy” M. Koehler, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland, Michigan. Born on July 5, 1931, in Beaver Township, Lucille led a life marked by kindness, warmth, and steadfast faith.
From an early age, Lucille was deeply committed to her spiritual life, maintaining membership at Grace Lutheran Church throughout her years. Her devotion to her faith was a cornerstone of her life, offering comfort and guidance to those around her. Lucille was known for her kind and welcoming nature, always greeting friends and family with a genuine smile that reflected her caring heart.
Away from the church, Lucille found joy in puzzles and reading, pursuits that kept her mind engaged and spirited. Yet, her greatest delight was found in the company of her family, cherishing the moments spent with them above all else.
Lucille is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Brenda (her friend, Allen Hankins) Koehler; her grandchildren, James Koehler, Jamie Koehler, and Dennis Johnson; as well as her seven great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great-grandchildren, who all carried forward her legacy of love and devotion. She is further survived by her sister, Janet (Clifford) Vennix; sister-in-law, Shirley Kappen; and numerous nieces and nephews who treasured her presence in their lives.
Her life was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Adelia (Landosky) Rinas; her husband, George Koehler; her daughter, Judy (Dallas) Eichman; her son, James Koehler; brothers, Erwin (Maxine) Rinas, and Kenneth Rinas; along with her brother and sister-in-laws, Wally Kappen, Carl (Lillian) Hool, and Violet (Bill) Koehler.
