Madeline "Madge" Rita Thompson

Mrs. Thompson passed away Christmas Day, December 25, 2012 at Red Oaks AFC Home. Age 85 years. She was born May 26, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan and has resided in Bay City most of her life. She was a member of Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church, The Little Flower Society and the Daughters of Isabella. On May 28, 1949, she married her husband of 63 years Richard "Dick" Thompson in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and he survives her passing along with four children and their spouses; Janice (Robert) Helie of Bay City, Carol Matuszewski (Collin Sibley) of Bay City, Richard G. (Susan) Thompson of Wauseon, Ohio and Denise and Timothy Walsh of Rohnert, Park, CA, five grandchildren; Michael (Jennifer), Troy (Jodi), Jessica (Samuel), Tyler, and Breanna, four great grandchildren; Noah, Timothy, Madilyn and Henry, one sister-in-law; Katherine Maciejewski and many nieces, nephews and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; Frank and Isabelle (Slazinski) Maciejewski, one grandson; Dana, stepfather; Edward Rudnik, one brother; Frank Maciejewski Jr., three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law; Jeremiah (Marian), Bernard (Eileen) and Thomas Thompson. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Red Oaks AFC Home and American's Hospice for the extra special Love and Care they extended to Mrs. Thompson during the time they cared for her. The Funeral Liturgy will be Celebrated Monday, December 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. George Serour with private inurnment in Calvary Cemetery in Kawkawlin, MI. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Thompson will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services.
