Madilyn M. Furtaw

Furtaw, Madilyn M. Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Furtaw passed away Wednesday evening October 23, 2013 at Toni and Trish House in Auburn, MI. Age 78 years. She was born January 22, 1935 in Bay City where she has been a life long resident. Mrs. Furtaw was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church and graduated from Bay City Central High School. She enjoyed playing cards, shuffle board and most of all spending time with and babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. On October 30, 1954 she married Leonard Furtaw and he survives her passing along with seven children and their spouses; John Furtaw, Jodi (David) Turgeon, Jim (Kim) Furtaw, Joe Furtaw, Leann (Larry) Kerkau, Shelley Smith and Kelley (Tony) Hartsfield, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, one sister and brother-in-law; Rose and Ervin Mceachern and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Charles and Hilda (Marquardt) Jones, one daughter; Cindy Furtaw, one brother; Melvin Jones and one sister; Rosa Harmon. Funeral and Committal services will take place on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 1010 33rd Street Bay City, Michigan 48708. Officiating will be Pastor Joel Pankow with private interment following in Green Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Furtaw will be taken to the church on Monday, October 28, 2013 to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorial cards for wishes of the family will be available at the funeral home and at the church.
