Margaret passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Bay Valley House in Bay City at the age of 96. She was born in Hale, Michigan on January 22, 1930 to the late Fredrick and Anna (Oehus) Wolf. She was a charter member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hale and was a longtime member of St. Johns Ev. Lutheran Church. She was a punch press operator for Vac Art and Graphic Metals. She enjoyed china painting, crocheting and going camping and snowmobiling with her husband Louis.
Margaret is survived by her daughter-in-law, Adrienne Kolb; grandchildren, Joel (Nati) Kolb, Jennifer (Jeremy) Sexton and Jeremy (Kristen) Kolb; great grandchildren, Kyla, Xavier, Kendall, Jordan, Xander and Zane; step great grandchildren, Stephanie, Jake and Lindsey; very close cousin, Janice Watkins and several others; brother-in-law, Harold (Joyce) Kolb; sister-in-law’s, Luella Kolb and Carol Mackie; dear friends, Judy Rowell and Shirley Heinz and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Kolb, whom she married on October 12, 1949 and they spent 71 years together before he passed in 2021. She is also preceded in death by her son, Ronald Kolb; sister-in-law’s, Loretta (Les) Kohn and Caroline (Calvin) Nichols and brother-in-law’s, Adam (Evelyn) Kolb and William Kolb.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Bay Valley House Assisted Living, especially Alivia, Ryan and Wendy, for their care and compassion throughout this difficult time. They would also like to say thank you to Chaplain Don Killey and the Nurses with Care Team Hospice, especially Nurse Don, Robert and Nichole for being so caring at this time as well.
Funeral service for Margaret will take place on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church with interment taking place at 2:00 p.m. at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor James Bare. The family will be present to receive visitors on Friday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider making memorial contributions in Margaret’s name to St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hale, MI or The Care Team Hospice.
