Stapish, Marilyn S. "Sue" St. Helen, Michigan Formerly of Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Stapish passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 29, 2010 at her residence. Age 70 years. The daughter of the late Francis "Frank" and Frieda (Grapentine) Jezak was born August 13, 1939 in Bay City. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in St Helen and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bay City. She worked at the former General Hospital and Huron Woods Nursing Home. She was a member of the Elks Lodge #1982 auxiliary in Houghton Lake, American Legion #414 auxiliary in St. Helen and Eagles Aries # 3646 in West Branch. In her free time she enjoyed doing crafts. She is survived by her husband, James R. Stapish whom she married October 14, 1961. Also surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law; Bruce and Jill Stapish and Keith Stapish, two grandchildren; Elizabeth Stapish and Austin Stapish, three brothers and their spouses; James and Linda Jezak, Mark and Amy Jezak and Kerry and Mary Kay Jezak, two sisters and their spouses; Barb and Don Dombrowski and Kathy and Gary Quellman, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; William F. and Patricia Stapish, Mary Lou and Thomas Cottrell and Lois Martin, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one sister; Beverly Minard, two brothers-in-law; Jerome Martin and F. Michael Stapish. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Craig L. Albrecht with the Rite of Committal following in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Stapish will be taken to the church on Thursday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial Cards for St. Mary's Catholic Church will be available at the funeral home.
