Mark D. Szczepanski

Mark Dennis Szczepanski, a loving and empathetic social worker, passed away on May 21st, 2023.

Mark's innate kindness and empathy fueled his genuine desire to help others led him to pursue a career in social work, where he devoted nearly three decades to making a positive difference in the lives of those who needed it most. Mark's clients cherished him for his unwavering support and guidance.

In addition to his passion for social work, Mark possessed a remarkable talent for stained glass artistry. His creative spirit thrived as he meticulously crafted stunning stained glass pieces that adorned homes and even graced the sacred spaces of churches.

Before his career in social work, Mark served his country with honor and distinction as a member of the United States Navy. His time in the Navy not only instilled in him a strong sense of discipline and dedication but also provided him with the opportunity to experience different cultures in places such as Greece.

Despite his many accomplishments, Mark possessed a remarkable generosity of spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His impact extended far beyond his professional duties, as he selflessly dedicated his time and resources to the betterment of his neighborhood. Whether it was lending tools or simply being a compassionate listener, Mark touched the lives of many, leaving an enduring legacy of kindness.

Mark is survived by his wife Gloria Symons, his father Richard Szczepanski (Marjorie Reinhardt), his daughter Jessica Duvall (Joseph Jr. Klowski), and his two sons Matthew and Michael. Mark will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory forever live on in our hearts.

At the request of Mark, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be considered to Heifer International or Plan International.
