Mary Lou Higgins

Mary passed away peacefully on August 16, 2022 at Huron Woods Nursing Center in Kawkawlin, Michigan at the age of 90. She was born on February 23, 1932 in Bay City, Michigan to the late Dewey and Martha Nelson. Mary was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church for over 67 years. She was also very involved with the church and was a Deacon and Elder there as well. She enjoyed line dancing and was a member of the Eastern Star as well as Women of the Moose.
Mary is survived by her children, Timothy (Pam) Higgins and Mary Jo Hughes; grandchildren, Gregory (Brandi) Higgins, Jeffrey (Jamie) Higgins, Timothy Higgins, Kristine (Kevin) Weaver and Jason Hughes; great grandchildren, Cody Higgins, Zackary and Allie Higgins, Declan, Nolan and Arden Weaver; daughter-in-law, Claudia Higgins and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her Husband, Clarence Higgins, who passed in 1995; son, Lonnie Higgins; brothers, Robert Nelson and William Nelson and sister, Shirley Schupbach.
Funeral Service for Mary will take place on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church with interment at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Jamie Milton. The family will be present to receive visitors at Gephart Funeral Home on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the Church on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church.
