Mary O. Laracey

Mary passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at New Hope Bay Assisted Living with her family by her side. The daughter of the late William and Anna (Schreinbeck) Meyer was born March 3, 1927 in Cheney, Kansas. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She worked for the Cheney Sentinel and retired from The Wichita Eagle-Beacon.
Left behind to cherish her memories along with two step-daughters and two sons-in-law, Brenda and (Philip) Davis and Pamela and (Ken) Rapelje and one step-son, Mark (Dawn) Laracey; six step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren; numerous nieces nephew and cousins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon L. Laracey whom she married February 14, 1975, five sisters, Blanche Wiechman, Lorene Mount, Marguerite Reid, Myrtle Semsroth, Maragaret Meyer; two brothers, Marvin and Harold Meyer.
Funeral Services will take place Friday, August 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church (Wilder & Two Mile Road). Officiating will be Rev. Erv Hutter and Glenn Gage Parish Assistant with interment following in Heavenly Rest Cemetery in Kawkawlin. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday to receive visitors from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Mrs. Laracey will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to Faith Lutheran Church or the Donors Favorite Charity.
