Mary L. Machul

Mary went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Bayfield Assisted Living at the age of 94 years. She was born on August 19, 1926 in Bay City to the late George and Evelyn (Maurer) Appold. Mary married Edwin Machul on May 27, 1972 and he preceded her in death on August 5, 1987 after 15 years of marriage. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and worked for Woodcraft and Arlan's Department Store. Mary enjoyed going to lunch with her Auburn ladies birthday group. In her spare time, she enjoyed oil painting, traveling, music and polka dancing. Mary also loved feeding her birds and dogs.
Mary is survived by her many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Irma Kostrzewa, Mary Ann Rytlewski and Ann Machul. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Wilfred George in 1962.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Grace Lutheran Church in Auburn. Officiating will be Rev. Aaron T. Schian with private burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or Laurus Hospice.
