Mary Ann Spliedt

Mary passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL at the age of 67 years, after enduring a challenging journey with cancer. Born in Bay City, Michigan on December 6, 1957, she was the daughter of James Spliedt and Myrna (Butterfield) Spliedt. She was a 1976 graduate of Handy High School and later attended Delta College. Mary had a passion for creating and collecting art and also appreciated the artistic imagination and beauty created by others. She was a member of the Antioch Garden Club and was an avid gardener, enjoying planting seeds whether the plants were on a windowsill or in a garden. Mary was a caring person who always remembered birthdays, anniversaries, and other important events in the lives of her friends and family.

She leaves behind her son, Alex Colopy, siblings James (Vicky) Spliedt, Sharon (John) Anderson and Colleen (Michael) Terwilliger; grandson Anthony Lagalo; nieces Savannah Spliedt and Emily Terwilliger; nephews James Anderson and Eric Terwilliger; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends especially Michael Dietze. In addition to her parents, Mary was proceeded in death by her daughter, Nicole Spliedt, and sister Carol Spliedt.

Visitation for Mary will take place at the Gephart Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with a private inurnment to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery. Officiating will be Hank Messing.
