Maurice passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Bay Valley House, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 91.
Maurice was born in Bay City, Michigan, on August 4, 1935, to the late Oliver and Ellen (Salois) LeFave. He was a graduate of West Catholic Central High School and continued his education at the University of Detroit, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
Following his education, Maurice proudly served his country in the United States Army. Upon completing his military service, he began a long and successful career in sales, working for Metropolitan Life and Cleveland Cotton Products until his retirement. Maurice continued to remain active after retirement, driving for Mitchell Motor Coach for several years.
Maurice was a devoted member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish and found great enjoyment in the simple pleasures of life. He loved golfing, bowling, reading, completing jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Above all, Maurice treasured his family and cherished every opportunity to spend time with those he loved. His kindness, dedication, and love for his family will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Maurice is survived by his daughters, Theresa (Mike) Podojak, Bethany (Jeff) Jacobsen, and Christiana Hartman; grandchildren, Amber (Mitch Martnes) Podojak, Charles Daliege, Zoe Daliege, Nicole Hartman, and Andrea Hartman; and great-grandson, Benjamin Hartman.
In addition to his parents, Maurice was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Bonnie LeFave; his son, Michael LeFave; and his siblings, Joel LeFave, Angela Hamme, and Jane Barnard.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, followed by private interment at St. Anne’s Cemetery.
