Maxine M. Kolat

Maxine passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Niche Aging Center at the age of 89 years. She was born in Bay City on October 11, 1932 to the late Stanley and Alphonsa (Andrzejewski) Gradowski. She married Robert Kolat on October 9, 1954, and he passed away on December 10, 2012, after 58 years. She was a member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church for many years. Maxine worked and retired in 1986 from Bay Medical Center as a registered nurse. She was an avid member of the YWCA and recently the Bay Area YMCA. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, puzzle building, Bingo and playing Bridge. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Maxine is survived by her children, Michael, David (Susan), Daniel (Patti) and John (Connie) Kolat; grandchildren, Dylan (Nikki), Thomas (Amanda) Jordan and Lauren Kolat; great grandson, Owen Thomas Kolat; brother, Ernest (Irene) Gradowski; sister-in-law, Barbara Gradowski and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Virgil (Fay) and Robert Gradowski and sister, Sister Alice Ann Gradowski.
Cremation has taken place, a memorial mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Corpus Christi Parish. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert J. Kelm.
