Mr. Melvin J. Weiss of Bay City passed away Friday afternoon November 13, 2020 at his residence at the age of 68 years. He was born in Bay City and was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. Melvin was a wonderful cook and woodworker and took great pleasure in his lawn and taking care of his tomato plants. He retired from Glastender after thirteen years though he enjoyed working he wanted to spend time with family, deer hunting and four wheeling.
Melvin is survived by his wife, Peggy; sons, Trevor (Deanna) Weiss, David Mieske and Michael (Shannon) Mieske; sisters, Eileen (Edwin) Dubay and Linda O'Neil; sisters-in-law, Pauline (Bruce) Drum and Patricia (Harry) Eden; grandchildren, Kailah (Jose) Weiss, Breanna (Greyson) Burkacki, Madison Mieske, Lucas Mieske and Ethan Miles; great grandsons, Jayden Araujo and Landen Araujo and their mother, Kailah. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred J. and Ruth M. (Vogtmann) Weiss; brother-in-law, Tim O'Neil and daughter-in-law, Yulonda Mieske.
Funeral service will take place on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. Officiating will be Pastor Dennis W. Matyas with private burial in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. We are currently still under the governor's executive order of social distancing, face coverings must be worn.
