It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Linn Schofield, age 79, on July 6, 2025, following a courageous battle with sarcoma. Michael passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 22, 1945, Michael was the beloved husband of Sandra Miller Schofield, with whom he shared many years of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Michael was a devoted father to his two children, Craig Schofield (Denise) and Amy Sherbino (Mark). His love extended further to his grandchildren, Michael (Kellie), Katelyn (Adam), Megan (Nathan), Dave (Elisa), and Kelsey (Luke), as well as his great-grandchildren: Karly, Liam, Carter, Chase, Marshall, and Logan. Michael also had a special bond with his grand dogs Speck, Dutch, and Ryder as well as many neighbors and friends.
A proud retiree from UBC Marketing in Saginaw, Michael’s life was filled with a quiet strength, generosity, and a sense of humor that brightened every room he entered. His love for fun was evident in his pranks—he was a true practical joker, always ready with a smile and a laugh to share.
Michael had a deep love for harness racing and could often be found watching the races, carefully analyzing the odds and placing his bets with a gleam in his eye. But more than anything, he was proud of his children and their families. His support, encouragement, and love were constants in their lives.
Michael was a kind and giving soul, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. His infectious laugh, quick wit, and joyful spirit will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents James and Betty Schofield, and his older brother, Gary Schofield.
To honor Michael’s wishes, no funeral service will take place. Those wishing to express their sympathies may reach out to the family directly.
