Michael John Zuraw Jr. "Sonny"

Michael passed away Monday, March 15, 2021 at his home with his family by his side at the age of 80. He was born in Danbury Connecticut on April 23, 1940 to the late Michael and Nellie (Gesiorak) Zuraw. He proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard. He was stationed for four years on Grey's Reef where he worked in the lighthouse and was a fireman for the coast guard, while in Grey's Reef he met the love of his life Kathleen. Michael was retired from GM Powertrain Bay City-Plant after 30 years of service.He attended the First Baptist Church of Bay City for over 20 years. Michael enjoyed hunting, golfing, was an avid New England Patriots fan, Gardening, anything to do with the outdoors and spending time with his family.

Michael is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kathleen (Weaver) Zuraw; son Michael (Linda) Zuraw; brother, Robert (Gladys) Zuraw; two sisters, Nancy Novak, Dolores Mosakewicz, his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews that loved him.In addition to his parents Michael is preceded in death by his son, Christopher Zuraw.

A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 19, 2021 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. with Interment at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Military honors will be performed by the Bay County Veterans Council at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Reece. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Contributions may be made to Toys for Tots-Bay County.
