Miles Frank Pike

Miles passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 94 years. He was born in Auburn to the late Frank and Elsie (Aspin) Pike and was a lifelong resident of Auburn. Miles married the former Irene E. Wilson on May 29, 1946, she preceded him in death on August 23, 2013. He was an active member of the Auburn United Methodist Church. Miles proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He drove truck for Superior Transport in Bay City for ten years. He later owned and operated Pike Insurance Company, currently Endline-Pike Insurance Company in Auburn, Michigan. Miles was a founder and fifty year active member of the Auburn Williams Township Fire Department.

Miles is survived by his son, Ronald (Sharon) Pike; daughters, Cheryl (Douglas) Halvorsen, Andrea Schymanski and Diana (Gailord) Weeks; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, William Schymanski and brother, Milan Pike.

The funeral service for Miles will take place at the Auburn United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2018. Cremation will take place following the service. Officiating will be Rev. Duane M. Harris. Private inurnment will take place at a later date at Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Mr. Pike will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
