Mrs. Schatzer passed away Tuesday evening, July 6, 2010 at Brian's House, age 60. The daughter of the late Willard & Janice (Burley) Young, she was born March 26, 1950 in Bay City. Nancy was a member of New Life Missionary Church where she was also employed as the church secretary for over 20 years, taught Sunday school and was involved with youth ministry. She graduated from Central Michigan University and was a member of Kappa Phi Sorority. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her grandchildren. Nancy is survived by her husband Kenneth R. Schatzer whom she married on November 18, 1972. She is also survived by two daughters and two son-in-laws: Brenda and Doug Ballor of Kawkawlin and Kristy and Steve Brubaker of Midland, her grandchildren; Austin, Aram and Elizabeth Brubaker and Cameron Ballor, two brothers and one sister-in-law; Dave Young and Brian and Michele Young, her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Sandra and Bill Marion, Linda and Dan Schmidt, Harry and Tammy Schatzer, Luke and Debbie Schatzer and Margie and Todd Barr, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by two brothers; Walter and Keith Young, her father-in-law and mother-in-law; Martin & Sophia Schatzer. Funeral Services will take place Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Missionary Church. Officiating will be Rev. Jonathan Boyer with interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Schatzer will be taken to the church on Saturday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial cards for New Life Missionary Church, Family Life Radio and Visiting Nurse Services of Michigan Hospice will be available at the funeral home.
