Nina J. Blackburn

Nina passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 79. The daughter of the late Leroy and Stephanie (Stawiarski) Tanner was born July 16, 1947 in Bay City, Michigan. Nina was retired from Wright & Filippis and enjoyed quilting, playing bingo, doing arts and crafts, fishing, gardening and going to church on Sunday.

Nina is survived by her five children, David George, John George, Annette George, Michelle (Dennis) Booth and Lisa (Alex) Hernandez; 31 grandchildren and great grandchildren and two sisters, Debra Gibbon and Rebecca Beador. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garth Blackburn and her brother, Kim Tanner.

At the request of Nina, cremation has taken place and no services are being planned at this time. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
