Nora passed away peacefully at home June 24, 2026 surrounded by her family, age 92. She was born April 12, 1934, in Walston, Pennsylvania to the late Frank and Elizabeth Adams. Nora married James “Sam” Seifferly October 25, 1958, in Bay City where they celebrated 58 years together. Jim preceded her in death February 14, 2017.
Nora was a member of All Saints Parish St. James Church for many years, where she worshipped weekly, until she sadly became unable to attend.
Nora loved being an involved Mom and Nana who never missed their events. Backyard birdwatching was one of her favorite pastimes, with cardinals and orioles her top choices. She was an avid reader and challenged herself with jigsaw puzzles, crossword and word search puzzles. Nora enjoyed many casino and event bus tours with her husband, Jim, her casino friends, and helping Arlene on her excursions coordinating games, snacks, etc.
She is survived by 3 children, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren: Jeffrey (Aileen) Seifferly and their children: Nicole (Tim) Mantey and great grandchildren: Noah, Jonah, Everett and Sawyer, Rachel Seifferly, Nathan Seifferly; Debra (Robert) Martens and their children: Mallory (Charity Bouchard) Martens, Mitchell (Amber Podojak) Martens; Robert (late wife Jennifer) Seifferly and their children: Megan (Paige Smith) Seifferly, Ryan (Nicole) Seifferly; grandson: Jake Seifferly. and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special nieces and nephews: Kathryn (Abel) Torres and David (Jane) Mauro and lifelong friends: Barb Williamson and Pat Mellors.
Along with her husband, Jim, Nora was preceded in death by their son: Richard Seifferly, along with her parents and her 6 siblings: Jane Fournier, Charles Adams, Philomena “Lue” Mauro, Francis “Bud” Adams, Robert Adams, Samuel Adams, her brother and sister-in-law: Jerry and Cathy Seifferly.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to McLaren Hospice who provided Nora excellent care. Also to her compassionate caregivers: Keri, Jill and Matt, along with her special neighbors: Joanne and Lynn, for their friendship and for always watching over Nora.
The Funeral Liturgy will be held at All Saints Parish St. James Church, 710 Columbus, Bay City, on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Jose Maria Cabrera officiating. Private entombment will be held in St. Patrick Mausoleum. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
