Norine passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022, at her residence with her family by her side at the age of 95 years. She was born in Bay City on January 17, 1926, to the late Otto and Anna (Warsaw) Witzke. On May 14, 1949, she married Elmer G. Arnold and they were married for 65 years until he passed away on November 21, 2014. Norine was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was a member of the ladies' guild. Norine was employed by Bay Trust Company and went on to run a grocery store named Arnolds Market. Later Norine and Elmer founded Arnold Sales that is still family owned today. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards, traveling, bowling and playing golf. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and her friends.
Norine is survived by her daughter, Susan (Paul Sr.) Birch; son, Michael (Rhonda) Arnold; grandchildren, Kyle (Kristi) Arnold and Katie (Derrick) Starke; great granddaughters, Adelyn and Lucy Arnold; sister-in-law, Ann Arnold and her special friend, Starlow Smith. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Raymond and Clarence Arnold. The family of Norine would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers, Mary White, Nora, Beth, Sara, Kelly, Kelly Jo and Maria for the care they gave to her.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Zion Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Pastor Steve Schilke with interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends and family may visit at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
