Norma Eileen Ranous (Bennett) Saginaw, Michigan Norma Eileen (Bennett) Ranous, passed away Monday, May 4, 2015 at Edgewood Assisted Living Center in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 93 years. She was born on October 12, 1921 in West Branch, Michigan and has resided in Saginaw, Michigan all of her adult life. On February 14, 1942, she married Jack W. Ranous in Wauseon, Ohio. Although Norma attended the Saginaw General Hospital of Nursing, she spent her life serving as a volunteer. Norma possessed a great love for people and, therefore, thoroughly enjoyed her years with Healthsource of Saginaw, DOVIA (Directors of Volunteers in Agencies), the United Methodist Women, the Voluntary Action Center of Saginaw County plus various church committees and community involvements. In addition to volunteering, Norma enjoyed reading and needlework. Norma is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jack Michael and Kit Ranous; one daughter and son-in-law, Sheila Louise and Andrew Sparkes both of Saginaw Township; five grandchildren, Christopher Gilbert, of Saginaw; Jon (Bethann) Ranous of South Bend, Indiana; Carrie (Ali) Al-Nawees of New Albany, Indiana; Christy (William) Harvey of Buchanan, Michigan; Greg (Krista) Ranous of South Bend, Indiana and one step-granddaughter, Andrea (James) Beecher of Gladwin, Michigan; 14 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Bennett of Hebron, Ohio; plus several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack W. Ranous; parents, John E. and Hazel (Wilcox) Bennett; two brothers, John Roger Bennett and Harve Bennett; one brother-in-law, Robert Woodward; four sisters-in-law, Vivienne Bennett, Beverly Bennett, Jeannette Ranous and Bessie Woodward. The family would like to extend a special "Thanks" to the staff at Edgewood Assisted Living and Hometown Hospice for the excellent care they provided. Funeral and Committal services will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Snow Funeral Home, Inc. 3775 N. Center, Saginaw, Michigan. Officiating will be her grandson, Rev. Jon M. Ranous and Rev. Scott Lindenberg, with private Entombment in Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum in Saginaw. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service.
