Norma Jean Tomkinson

Norma went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and has reunited with her husband L. James Tomkinson on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Barton Woods Assisted Living at the age of 90. She was born August 24, 1932 to the late Elmer and Bertha (Wise) Hannan in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Norma devoted her life to her faith working in the ministry as a pastor. She enjoyed crafting, worked as a realtor and she was the first president of Bay City Aglow.

Norma is survived by her children, Penny Lalonde of Auburn, Michigan, Rick (Linda) Tomkinson North Carolina and Kelli (Kevin) Buffman of Auburn, Michigan; grandchildren, Heather (Joseph) Welz, Ashley (Tim) Davis, Shannon (Ron) Ahrens, Joshua (Shannon) LaLonde, Sarah Tomkinson, Nathan Tomkinson, Joel (Claire) Tomkinson, and Eric (Rachel) Buffman; sixteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; siblings, Bob Hannan, Connie Phillips, Cheryl (Ed) Nashatka; in-laws, Don (Stella) Tomkinson, Mary Tomkinson, Ed Babinski and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Norma is preceded in death by her husband, L. James Tomkinson; granddaughter, Megan Buffman; son-in-law, Jeff LaLonde; sisters, Gloria Abbs and Sandy Hannan; sister-in-law, Betty Babinski.

The family would like to thank Wellspring Assisted Living, Barton Woods Assisted Living, and Cardinal hospice for the outstanding care that they provided to Norma.

At the request of Norma, Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Time Square Church in New York.
