Patricia Ann Wilson

Patricia passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at McLaren Bay Region with her family by her side at the age of 93. She was born July 24, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Frank Ross Smiley and Ruth Violet (Johnson) Smiley. Patricia graduated high school from Bay City Central. After high school, Patricia attended Central Michigan where she completed her Bachelor's Degree in Teaching and her Master's Degree in Counseling. Patricia then taught in the Essexville area for over 50 years. She was a dedicated member of the board at Sunrise Family Credit Union, as well as a member of the Elks Club. She would often donate books back to the local school system, and frequently could be found playing the piano while teaching her grandchildren to do the same. Patricia loved to spend the summers with her family at the cabin at Higgins Lake.
Patricia is survived by her children, Jeffrey Frank Wilson and Christine Lee (John Patrick) Delaney; four grandchildren, Bree Ann Marshall and her significant other, Jason Jay Jackson, Christopher Patrick Delaney and his significant other, Nicole Sosa Aguilar, Hilary Claire (Piotr Mikolaj) Matusiak and Audrey Gail Wilson and her fiancé, Geoffrey Colin Moran McLaughlin; three great grandchildren, Kourtney Claire Delaney, Noah Aguilar Delaney and Evelyn Acta Matusiak. In addition to her parents, Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lee Wilson and brother, Michael William Smiley.
Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Brenna Overland with private interment taking place at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be considered to the American Breast Cancer Foundation or to Sunrise Family Credit Union ATTN: Patricia Ann Wilson Scholarship.
