Patrick D. Koczenasz Sr.

Patrick, beloved husband, father and papa passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 78 years. He was born in Bay City on February 12, 1943 to the late John and Florence (Solinski) Koczenasz. Patrick graduated from Visitation High School in 1961 and then proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On July 2, 1966 he married the former Linda Bostick and they were married for 55 years. Patrick was a member of Visitation Catholic Church until its closing and then St. Catherine of Siena Parish where he was an usher and participated in other church activities. He worked and retired after 39 years from General Motors as a millwright. In his early years he was involved with coaching his kids sports and continued following sports and was an avid Michigan State and Detroit Tigers fan. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends and spending the holidays with them. He also loved going up north to Burt Lake since 1982.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Patrick (Joan) Koczenasz, Sheryl (Darrin) Rabidoux and Brad (Kristie) Koczenasz; grandchildren, Brett and Lauren Koczenasz, Kori and Nathan Rabidoux and Aidan and Peityn Koczenasz; brothers and sisters, Richard (Marilyn) Koczenasz, Judith (Thomas) Wilhite, Terence (Linda) Koczenasz, Randolph (Lois) Koczenasz and Jeffrey (Kathy) Koczenasz; aunt, Delphine (Solinski) Rugenstein; brother-in-law, Mark (Marilyn) Bostick and their children, Ryen and Kylie along with many more nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Parish on Friday, December 10, 2021. Friends and family can visit at the Gephart Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The vigil for the deceased will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening. Mr. Koczenasz will be taken to the church to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Toys for Tots.
