Paul R. Janasik passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Friday evening July 2, 2010 after a short, courageous battle with Leukemia, age 71. The son of the late Thaddeus & Monica (Gwizdala) Janasik, he was born January 4, 1939 in Bay City. Paul was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. He retired as a skilled tradesman from Saginaw Steering Gear. Paul was a lifetime blood donor. He was an avid golfer and bowler and loved playing horseshoes and enjoyed spending winters in Sebring, Florida. On October 17, 1959 Paul married the former Marlene M. 'Molly' Heska and she survives him along the their children, Ted (Marie) Janasik of Naples, FL, Cindy (Ken) Makovics of Pinconning, David (Kimberly) Janasik of Sheboygan, WI, Cathleen Janasik of Pinconning and Connie (Rodney) Bartkowiak of Pinconning; grandchildren, Melissa, Jenny, Stephanie, Jon, Emily, Jakob and Sarah; four sisters, Mary Anne (Roger) Richert, Fran Cataldo, Elizabeth Sheredy and Margaret Janis; a sister-in-law, Barbara Sellers; brother-in-law, Gary (Bobi) Heska; and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, Paul was also preceded in death by a brother, John Janasik. The Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00am on Thursday July 8, 2010 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Craig L. Albrecht. Private inurnment will be in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 9:00pm where the Vigil for the Deceased will take place at 7:00pm. Mr. Janasik will lie instate at the church on Thursday from 10:00am until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating blood to your local blood bank in Paul's honor.
