Raymond D. Gittins, born on July 1, 1943, in Bay City, Michigan, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center of Midland, Michigan, with his family by his side. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.

Raymond dedicated many years of his career to the Saginaw division of steering gear, where his expertise and commitment were well acknowledged. Beyond his professional achievements, Raymond served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1966. His service in the 70th Bomb Wing Strategic Air Command and the 4082 ED Bomb Wing earned him a special commendation, reflecting his dedication and bravery.

Outside of his career and military service, Raymond was truly passionate about life. He found joy in racing cars and took pride in showing his own hot rod. Travel was also a cherished pursuit, especially during the winters when he would head to Florida with his beloved wife, Gloria. Their travels together were filled with beautiful memories that enriched their 38 years of marriage.

Raymond was a proud Master Mason for 50 years at Joppa Wenona Lodge 315. His commitment to the organization and its values saw him awarded the 32nd degree as a Scottish Rite member of the Valley of Michigan, marking a significant achievement in his life.

He will be deeply missed by his family, including his children, Paul (Patti) Cwiklinski, Janice (Dennis) Spiker, Rose (Mark) AuBuchon, Julie (Rick) Koch, and Tracie (Sam) Kent. Raymond's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Krysta (Kevin) Cook, P.J. (Holly) Cwiklinski, Lauren Mae (Aaron) Cook, Christian Spiker, Evan (Melissa) Deska, Emily Reder, Ethan, Erik, and Ellen Kent; as well as his great-grandchildren, Keyan, Kyler, Quin, Kash, and Reese. He is also survived by and many nieces, nephews, and a special friend, Donna.

Raymond D. Gittins was predeceased by his devoted wife, Gloria A. (Markel) Gittins.

A memorial service to honor Raymond's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Gephart Funeral Home, located at 201 W Midland St, Bay City, MI 48706. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 30, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Funeral Home.
