Richard "Rick" F. Brzezinski

Richard F. Brzezinski, affectionately known as Rick, passed away on September 1, 2025 in Saginaw, Michigan. He was born in Bay City, Michigan, on August 26, 1955. A devoted family man and beloved community member, Rick lived a life characterized by his commitment to public service and his deep care for those around him.

Rick retired in 2019, after many years of service as the Bay County Treasurer, having spent his career dedicated to improving the lives of his neighbors. His joyful personality made him a cherished figure not only in his professional role but also within his family and community. He took pride in being an active member of the Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. He served as an usher, president of the church's athletic club, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #12423. He was also a member of the Bay City Lions Club.

He enjoyed spending winters in Florida and had a particular fondness for attending spring training for the Detroit Tigers, a team he passionately supported throughout his life. In addition, he found joy in golfing, playing cards, visiting the casino, and most importantly, spending quality time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kay A. (Maciejewski) Brzezinski, whom he married on August 21, 1976. Together, they raised three sons: Nick (Janelle) Brzezinski, Matt (Amber) Brzezinski, and Jason (Kellie) Brzezinski. Rick was a proud grandfather to Caroline, Cooper, Henry, Arlo, Lucy, Addison, Peyton, Londyn, and Hudson.

Rick is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Terri and Tom Jozwiak, as well as his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Beverly Maciejewski, and Monica and Mark Koczenasz. His extended family includes many cherished nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard A. and Patricia (Luczak) Brzezinski, his in-laws, Richard and Angeline Maciejewski, and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Denny and Elizabeth Larsen. The legacy Rick leaves behind is one of generosity, positivity, and unwavering dedication to both family and community. His impact will be felt for generations to come through the lives he touched and the love he shared.
