Rick (Rickyjak) passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, May 17, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 68 years. Richard was born in Bay City on September 28, 1949 to the late Jack Roberts and Elaine Betty (Hages) Roberts. Rick worked for General Motors for thirteen years and then worked and retired from General Electric after thirty years of service. He belonged to the FOE #1010, LOOM #169 and AMVETS #22. In his spare time he enjoyed NASCAR, U of M sports, football, working with computers, gardening, bickering with his wife and spending time with family and friends.Rick is survived by his wife of 25 years, Cynthia (Windt); children, Jason (Deanna) Jean, Brian Roberts and Kaci (fiancé Brett Ahrens) Wright; former daughter-in-law, Terrylyn Jean; grandchildren, Amanda, Zack, Duane, Bernard, Pedro, Danyele, Shyann, Jay Jay, Jason A., Anthony and Mitchell; his special fur baby, Bella Rose; six great grandchildren; sister, Jackie Martinez; brother-in-law, Rick Windt and his companion Joe Spencer; sister-in-law, Laurie (Dan Syring) Windt and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his children, Terry Jean and Cindy Delacruz; brother, Timothy Roberts; brothers-in-law, Terry and David Windt and sister-in-law, Lou Jean.
Funeral and committal services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Andreas Teich. At the request of Rick, cremation will take place following the funeral services. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. An Eagles FOE Aerie #1010 service will take place at 6:00 p.m. followed by a Moose Lodge service at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to make a memorial contribution to the wishes of the family. The family of Rick would like to extend a special thank you to Jeff and Scott of the Bangor Township Fire Department. Thank you to Pam and Mike Sharrow for always being there for our family.
