Richard B. Wegener Sr. "Rich"

Rich passed away peacefully at his home with his loved ones by his side on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the age of 78. He was born on January 26, 1943 to the late Richard G. and Margaret (Thorne) Wegener in Bay City, Michigan. Rich worked in lumber retail from his high school days until the time of his retirement. He was the president of his pool league. He was a big fan of the Detroit Lions and loved classics cars. He enjoyed going to the St. Ignace car show every year. He also enjoyed remodeling and rebuilding things and loved his music, he had many recordings. Most importantly, Rich loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and granddogs.
Rich married the love of his life, Diane (Lamblin) Wegener, on June 26, 1978 and they've spent 43 wonderful years together. He is also survived by his children, Mike (Sasha) Wegener, Clarke (Jodi) Wegener and Ann (Shane) Garchow; grandchildren, Krystina, Amber, Seth, Kaili (Jason), Mackayla, Hailey, Jacob (Alasia), Gabriella, Caitlyn, Tiana and Adam; great grandchildren, Tyrus, Leo, Xandir, Matthias, Brennan and soon to be, Rowen; sister, Dianne (Craig) Carson; brother-in-law, Tom Katt and sister-in-law, Shirley Wegener. In addition to his parents, Rich is preceded in death by his children, Richard Wegener Jr., Robert Wegener and William Horning; grandchild, Richard "Ricky" Wegener III; in-laws, Virgil (Eleanor) Lamblin; brother, Robert Wegener and sister, Margaret Katt.

A time of sharing will take place on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home. The family will be present to receive visitors on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wishes of the Family, McLaren Hospice or Michigan Parkinson's Foundation.
