Robert "Bob" Howard Stewart

Bob passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Bay City Comfort Care at the age of 78. He was born on December 31, 1947 in St. Paul Minnesota to the late Howard and Lorraine (Leider) Stewart.

Bob was an avid sports enthusiast, he was very proud to be in the Michigan Softball Hall of Fame. While his children were younger, he coached them in baseball and in softball and later started officiated and umpired many softball and basketball games in the Tri-City area. He started a golf league with his fastpitch softball league and they golfed for over 20 years together. Most importantly, he was so proud of his three grandchildren, especially his grandson who plays D1 college baseball, he loved watching him play.

Bob will always be known for his hardworking personality, if you needed something fixed, he was your guy.

Bob is survived by his two sons, Rob Stewart and Jason (Lisa) Stewart; grandchildren, Marlee (Reggie) Lindsey, Braxton Stewart and Mason Stewart; sister, Sue Wetters; special sister-in-law, Gretchen (Rudy) Velasquez and several other in laws; loving companion, Linda Anderson and many nieces, nephews and close friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Andrea (Sutter) Stewart and his mother and father-in-law, Eileen and Emil Sutter.

Celebration of Life for Bob will be taking place on Monday, March 16, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to the Bay City Boys and Girls Club.
