Robert J. "Bob" Borchardt

Robert passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Bay Shores Nursing Center at the age of 91. The son of the late August and Lillian (Sharpe) Borchardt was born November 26, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York. Robert was retired from General Motors and enjoyed vacationing in Charlevoix, MI, golfing, farming, traveling and his animals, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Robert is survived by his two daughters, Marsha (Mark) Kowalsky and Karin (Dan) Fochtman; five grandchildren, Meredith (Greg) Wajer, Melissa (David) Coberley, Matthew (Sofia) Kowalsky, Katie (Tyler) Waibel and Andrew (Alli) Sylvester; six great grandchildren, Isabelle Sievers, Samantha Sievers, Kaitlin Coberley and Olivia, Austin and Layla Waibel; along with his nieces that were very special to him. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce Borchardt; brothers and sisters.

Funeral and Committal services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Marc Alba with private interment following in Floral gardens Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the Gephart Funeral Home on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
