Robert George Reed Sr. “Quanicassee Bob” (QB)

Bob passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the age of 83. He was born on May 24, 1940 in Bay City, Michigan to the late Richard and Irene (Everett) Reed. He was a member of the American Legion Post 18, AMVETS Post 22, F.O.E. Arie 1010 and the Moose Lodge Estey. Bob was retired from the City of Bay City as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He loved the outdoors, hunting, going to the casino and fishing off the dock at home. He enjoyed watching the deer and turkeys in his backyard. He was funny and loved his jokes. His world revolved around his grandkids. He loved his gin and tonics and would always make sure that lime was ground in there.

Bob is survived by his son, Robert Reed Jr. and his significant other, Jennifer Macklem; granddaughters, Champaigne (Will) Southworth, Kayla Reed and Kara Reed; two great granddaughters, Ember and Sydney Southworth; brother, Larry Reed; sister, Elaine Doan; sister-in-law, Josephine Reed and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Raymond Reed and Richard Reed.

The family of Bob would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Heartland Hospice for their support throughout this difficult time.

Funeral service for Bob will take place on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home with interment to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will be present to receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to AMVETS Post 22.
