Robert F. Schulz

Robert passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021 at ProMedica at the age of 95 years. He was born in Unionville, Michigan on February 18, 1926 to the late John and Louisa (Ziegler) Schulz. Robert was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church where he was and elder, head of the senior group, the elders care and comfort committee and in charge of video-taping. He was also president, temporary treasurer, secretary and a trustee. Robert was a chairman of the building committee during the church remodel at Mt. Olive Lutheran church and was a voting member of each church he attended. Robert was also on the North West District Citizen Council. He worked and retired from DOW Corning Corporation for over 30 years. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed camping, traveling, gardening, fishing and hunting.
Robert is survived by his wife, Darlene; children, Larry D. Schulz, Alan R. (Tammy) Schulz, James F. Jr. (Ginger) Erwin, Michael R. (Ashley Rogstad) Erwin, Paul R. (Arlene) Erwin and Timothy L. (Ann) Erwin; grandchildren, John (Sarah) Schulz, Mark Schulz, Eric (Shannon) Schulz, Mike Schulz, Jamie Schulz, Danny (Kelley) Schulz, Becky (Martinello) Williams, Christine Schulz, James III (Christiana Haight) Erwin, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Erwin, Cecilia Erwin Doud, Michael Bond, Andrew Bond, Hannah Erwin, Timothy Erwin, Olivia Erwin and Alicia Schwerin; eleven great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Jackie Schulz and son-in-law, James E. Bond. In addition to his parents, Robert was also preceded in death by his first wife, Clara Schulz; son, Rev. Dale R. Schulz; daughter-in-law, Judy Schulz; daughter, Marie Bond; brothers, Roy (Caroline) Schulz and Franklin (Beatrice) Schulz; sister, Alice (Ernest) Ertel.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev Joel Pankow with interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends and family may visit at the Gephart Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Schulz will be taken to the church to lie in state on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
