Robert Thomas "Whitey" Sermon Sr.

Mr. Sermon passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 69 years. The son of the late Joseph Charles and Doris Martha (Booth) Sermon was born June 26, 1946 in Bay City. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Mr. Sermon retired from CSX Railroad as a conductor. He was a member of the Atlanta Thunder Bay Eagles Aerie #4077. He enjoyed going camping, fishing with his son Rob, was an excellent cook, had a love for boats and playing practical jokes. But most of all he had a great love for his family, especially his grandchildren. Left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Robert Thomas (Jill) Sermon Jr.; Kimberly Brandmair; Mary Kristen Brandmair; Michael Richard (Jamie) Brandmair; seventeen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister; Carolyn Sermon. Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, MaryAlice Sermon on April 17, 2016. At the request of Mr. Sermon cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service for Mr. and Mrs. Sermon will take place Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church (4267 Two Mile Rd. Bay City, MI 48706). Officiating will be Rev. Jeff Temple. The family will be present at the church on Saturday to receive family and friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
