Ronald E. Martin

Ron passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021 at MidMichigan Medical Center Midland at the age of 85 years. He was born in Bay City on April 9, 1936 to the late Edward and Alice (Witzke) Martin. Ron married the former Dorothy Finkbeiner in Bay City on October 31, 1959 and they were married for 61 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish for many years and worked and retired from Grey Iron Foundry in 2001 after 42 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling camping and working on cars. Most of all he loved spending time with his friends and family.
Ron is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Todd (Tracy) Martin of Vail, Arizona, Troy (Monica) Martin of Vassar, Tracey (Amy) Martin of Bay City and Tina Walraven of Bay City; thirteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Corette (Larry) Forester of Bay City; brother-in-law, Richard Towne and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Bridget Martin; grandsons, James and John Walraven and sister, Marlene Towne.
Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Our Lady of Peace Parish. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. John Sarge with private entombment in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Contributions may be made to the Our Lady of Peace Parish Food Bank.
