Roy G. Schwab

Roy passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Fiddler’s Green Senior Community at the age of 91. He was born on January 15, 1932 to the late Martin and Sabina (Boehm) in Frankenlust Township. Roy was a lifelong member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. He proudly served his country during the Korean War where he earned a Purple Heart. Roy enjoyed reading and learning history, being outside in nature, walking and spending time with his sister, Loretta and his nieces and nephews.

Roy is survived by his four nieces, Sandra Schwab, Kathy Daniels, LeAnn Smith and Jan Zerby; nephew, Howard Schwab; many great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, Roy is preceded in death by his siblings, Otto Schwab, Edwin Schwab, Dorothy Schwab, Hilda Schwab-Summerfield, Arlene Zerby, Ella Schwab, Rupert Schwab and Loretta Rozewski.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Roy’s caregivers, at Fiddler’s Green Senior and Veterans Community for the extraordinary care they provided Roy.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Pastor Dennis Matyas with interment following at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, July 1, 2023 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
