Rudolph “Rudy” Horvat, aged 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Bay County Medical Care Facility.
Rudy was born on October 31, 1942, in Wheeling, West Virginia, to the late Rudolph and Emma Jean (Dankmer) Horvat. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Barbara Ann (Amos) Horvat. He is also survived by his children, Jodi Lynn Horvat (David) Greenberg, Shelly Anne Horvat (David) Scally, and Joel Edward Horvat; and grandchildren, Emma Belle Greenberg, Gage Ber Greenberg, Madison Avery Scally, and Ella Rose Scally.
Rudy retired from Roger’s Stageright in Clare, Michigan, as Vice-President of Human Resources and later started his own consulting business.
Rudy enjoyed cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes, playing basketball, strengthening his Christian faith, and spending time with family.
The family extends sincere thanks to the loving staff at Bay County Medical Care Facility.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Grace Church-West Campus, with Pastor Anthony Cutting officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Church or The Care Team Hospice.
