Sally Marie Tarbox

Sally Tarbox passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, in Bay City Michigan.  Sally Marie Ward was born April 3, 1938, in Saginaw Michigan, to the late Cletus and Bernice Ward, the ninth child of eleven.  She graduated from Saginaw Saint Mary's High School in 1956.  Shortly after graduation, Sally married Paul Thorne, who predeceased her, and together they raised six children.
She loved to play her piano and had a beautiful singing voice.  Sally was an amazing bowler and averaged in the 200's missing a perfect game by just one spare.  She enjoyed cribbage, darts and playing bingo.  Sally was an accomplished seamstress and owned A Time to Sew in Bay City.
Sally married her second husband Robert Tarbox, who predeceases her, and they made their home in Gloucester, Massachusetts.  Robert and Sally owned an antique furniture store in downtown Gloucester for many years.  She was a member of Our Lady of Good Voyage church and sang with their choir.  She was also a member of the North Shore Choir in Gloucester.
Sally is survived by her children Sally Batzer (Tim Walkowiak), Joyce Thorne (Shawn Ciezki), Karen (Dave) Gauld, Paul Thorne and Lynn Robertson; her brother Dick Ward, sister Carol (George) Ward and brother Daniel Ward; her grandchildren Kyle (Kayla), Sarah and Scott Batzer, Sarah and Ashley Robertson, Michelle (Steven) Krueger and Carrie Simon; her great grandchildren Zack Cavic, Elizabeth and Elijah Batzer and Emma Krueger; many nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, Minnie.
She was predeceased by a son, Archie Thorne and his wife Louette; her sisters, Marian (William) Ruth and Pat Hyzer; her brothers, William (Patricia), Thomas (Terry), Dale (Patricia), James (Mary), and Jack (Shirley) Ward; and her sister-in-law, Julie Ward.
There will be a memorial service for Sally on October 2, 2021 at 209 N. Tuscola Road at 2 p.m.  Family and friends are invited to share in this celebration of her life.
We were blessed to have our dear mother on this earth for eighty-three years and take comfort in knowing that she is now with our Lord in heaven.
