Sandra L. MacDonald

Sandy passed away peacefully on Friday, June 5, 2026 at Charter Senior Living in Bay City at the age of 86. She was born to the late Edward and Josephine (Filary) Ciesielski on December 5, 1939 in Bay City, Michigan. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching the Detroit Tigers, doing jigsaw puzzles with her daughter and getting her hair done. Her hands tended flowers, her heart tended family. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will bloom in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren forever. She now rests in the God’s loving arms.

Sandy is survived by her children, Barb (Rick) Pobanz of Indiana, Renae (Randy) Foco, Lloyd “Butch” (Barbie) MacDonald of Idaho and Darren MacDonald; grandchildren, Janell, Alisa (Naki), Steven, Kevin (fiancé, Allie), Michael, Tiffany and Jaisa; great grandchildren, Chloe, Mason, Kiera, Austin, Camden and Brielle; sisters, Mary (Harold) Chosay and Marge Ligney and great friend, Kate Hodge, who visited her every Sunday. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd MacDonald, whom she married on April 17, 1959, and they spent 61 years together before his passing on May 5, 2020. She is also preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Charter Senior Living and to the staff and nurses with Americans Home Healthcare and Hospice, especially Nancy, for all the care and support given to Sandy and Renae.

A Celebration of Life for Sandy will be taking place on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home with a private inurnment being held at Floral Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made in Sandy’s name to the American Cancer Society.
