Sarah Rose (Gillespie) Russell

Mrs. Russell passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Country Square Assisted Living in Auburn, Michigan. She was born February 22, 1922 in Bay County, Michigan to the late William and Luella (Bartreau) Gillespie. Mrs. Russell was a member of Carter Rd. Baptist Church. She was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan, loved her Lord and became a Christian in 1997and loved her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Sally (Ralph) McCollum and Karen (Chet) Bruzewski; her son, Mike (Donna) Russell; many grandchildren; great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  Gone before her were her parents, her husband James E. "Tony" Russell whom she married June 24, 1939 and he passed away in 1982; two sons, Jim and Ken; daughter-in-law, Donna and three babies who were still born; grandsons, Randy and Tim; her brother, Will and four sisters, Etta, Ruth, Jennie and Dorothy.
Funeral Services will take place Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Pastor Stanley Dulaney with interment following in Heavenly Rest Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral home on Wednesday to receive family and friends from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
